COURSE INFORMATION
Modeling & Simulation Staff Officer Course
This three-day course provides a broad overview of modeling and simulation (M&S) policy and activities of the Department of Defense (DoD), with discussion of how DoD employs M&S in support of training, analysis, acquisition of new products and systems, test and evaluation (T&E) and experimentation. The course focuses on M&S terms, concepts, applications, and information resources, preparing attendees for positions that require conversancy in these topics. Students will gain familiarity with major M&S concepts, policies, organizations, programs, activities, and issues within the Department of Defense. Two (2) Continuous Education Units (CEUs) are available for this course as well as twenty-one (21) Continuous Learning Points (CLPs).
Course Goal
The goal of this course is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge that will enable them to make informed decisions about the use of M&S in training, analysis, acquisition, operations, T&E and experimentation activities.
Course Site Information
The MSSOC will be conducted at, Room #203, AFIT School of Systems and Logistics, 3100 Research Blvd (Pod 3) Kettering, OH 45420-4022.
Student-incurred costs will be $795.00 (U.S. Military/U.S. Government Civilian) or $1095.00 (All others) for the three-day course, which includes course material, a comprehensive modeling and simulation (M&S) reference CD, a recommended M&S reading list, and course certificate. Each individual student will be responsible for housing, transportation, and food, if you have to travel to the course location. The appropriate dress for the course is "business casual". Be sure to bring a sweater due to temperature variation in the classroom.
Directions
From Dayton Airport: Take 70 East to 75 South to 35 East (Xenia Exit Ramp)
Take the WOODMAN DR exit (OH-835).
Turn LEFT onto WOODMAN DR and proceed South about 1.5 miles.
Turn LEFT onto Research Blvd (OH-835 E) and proceed East about 0.7 miles.
End at 3100 RESEARCH BLVD (on the RIGHT).
Directions from WPAFB to Course Location:
From Area A/C (Gate 12A - HQ AFMC and Hope Hotel gate):Go WEST on OH-444 and turn right onto OH-844 S toward I-675.
Merge onto I-675 S toward CINCINNATI
Take the exit number 13B - US-35 West toward DAYTON.
Take the WOODMAN DR exit (OH-835).
Turn LEFT onto WOODMAN DR and proceed South about 1.5 miles.
Turn LEFT onto RESEARCH BLVD (OH-835 E) and proceed East about 0.7 miles.
End at 3100 RESEARCH BLVD (on the RIGHT).
From Area B (Gate 22B - I-675 gate):Merge onto I-675 S toward CINCINNATI
Take the exit number 13B - US-35 - toward DAYTON.
Take the WOODMAN DR exit (OH-835).
Turn LEFT onto WOODMAN DR and proceed South about 1.5 miles.
Turn LEFT onto Research Blvd (OH-835 E) and proceed East about 0.7 miles.
End at 3100 RESEARCH BLVD (on the RIGHT).

1. Follow I-70 East to Exit 41

4. Follow Ohio 444 to Gate 12A
5. Make a left turn at Gate 12A
6. As you turn, bear right and turn into the entrance of the Hope Hotel.
