Analysis Center (MSIAC).
- The MSIAC is one of ten Information Analysis Centers (IACs) chartered by DoD’s Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC).
- The IACs provide value-added information exchange among researchers, technology developers, and warfighters.
- The MSIAC is DoD’s center for integrated support of the M&S community, providing DoD-wide technical and operational support in the following areas:
- Conduct M&S analysis, research, and assessment
- Prepare M&S requirements development and analyses
- Create simulation support plans
- Perform technology assessments and plan for technology insertion
- Conduct independent analysis and assessment of joint experimentation programs
- Provide reach-back analysis capabilities
- Develop M&S Master Plans
- Test M&S for High Level Architecture compliance
- Develop and integrate the Modeling and Simulation Resource Repository (MSRR)
- Provide M&S liaison support to Joint and Unified Commands
- Conduct M&S education and training courses and workshops
- Provide "help desk" support to answer questions concerning M&S for DoD and defense contractors, with up to eight hours of free support
- Perform independent verification and validation (V&V) of M&S
- Conduct M&S experimentation, testing, and evaluation
- Develop requirements for human and organization behavior models
The M&S University is part of the MSIAC,
and it delivers courses and instructional services that benefit the entire
M&S community.
- Our mission is to provide M&S professionals with the best and latest education products concerning Department of Defense (DoD) M&S policies, practices, and programs.
- Our M&S University staff creates and presents audience-tailored, up-to-date courses throughout DoD, academia, industry, non-DoD U.S. Government, and foreign nations.
- The M&S University prepares courses for deployment
with advanced distributed learning methods (Web and CD-ROM based).
- The M&S University will award continuing education units (CEUs) to graduates of the Modeling and Simulation Staff Officer Course (MSSOC).
The MSIAC team is comprised of experts who provide support across the entire life cycle of modeling and simulation— including requirements definition, planning, product development and testing, and implementation and support.
M&S University has successfully delivered Modeling and Simulation courses of instruction to over 12,500 US Military and Civilian personnel, academia, Allied and Coalition partners, and across the Defense industry, in more than 20 countries. |
What do we offer your organization?
We provide your organization with consulting services on how to develop your M&S capabilities in various fields, such as computer assisted exercises, medical activities, acquisition processes, operations and analysis, training, experimentation, or your specific area of interest. We also provide a variety of modeling and simulation education courses tailored to meet your specific customized requirements, or we can assist you to develop your own M&S curriculum.
Our consulting services cover a wide range of topics and provide direct assistance to support both beginners and technically advanced M&S organizations. Support can assist in expanding your current M&S capabilities or in using the more advanced applications of M&S technology. We are able to help you employ modeling and simulation technologies in the following areas:
- Needs assessment and requirements analysis
- Infrastructure planning and development
- Master plan development and institutationlization
- Education and training program structure and implentation
- "Help desk" structure and operation
- On-site direct assistance
- Functional applications:
- Acquisition
- Training
- Experimentation
- Planning
- Test and Evaluation
- Analysis
“Modeling and simulation is becoming pervasive, but it’s important to understand that it’s not an end in itself. It’s something that people leverage to do other things. So we look at M&S as a way of getting other things done more effectively, more efficiently, more completely. We’re not trying to sell M&S. We are trying to help the community make maximum use of this powerful enabler to take problems off your plate and replace them with solutions. We’re trying to make sure that M&S is used properly to its maximum effect and at the least cost.”
